These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of The Holler Herald website (“the Site”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Satire and Fiction
The Holler Herald is a satirical publication. Stories may be fictional, exaggerated or written solely for comedic purposes. Names, characters, quotations and events may be invented. Unless a page clearly states otherwise, content should not be treated as factual news, professional advice or a reliable description of real events.
References to real places, public institutions, cultural traditions, sports teams or familiar experiences are used as part of the satire and do not imply affiliation, endorsement or that the events described actually occurred.
Not Professional Advice
Nothing on the Site is legal, medical, financial, safety, wildlife-management, meteorological or other professional advice. Do not make important decisions based on satire articles, particularly anything attributed to Earl’s knee, a woolly worm or an unidentified man at the gas station.
Permitted Use
You may visit the Site and share links to its publicly available articles for personal, noncommercial purposes. When quoting or sharing our work, please provide clear attribution and a link to the original article. You may not copy substantial portions of the Site, republish complete articles, remove attribution, impersonate the Site or use the content to mislead others about its satirical nature.
Intellectual Property
The Site’s original articles, graphics, characters, branding, layout and other creative material are owned by or licensed to The Holler Herald and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Names or marks belonging to third parties remain the property of their respective owners. No license is granted except the limited permission to access and share links described in these Terms.
Acceptable Conduct
You may not attempt to interfere with the Site, bypass protected newsroom access, upload malicious material, probe for vulnerabilities, scrape the Site in a way that disrupts service or use the Site for unlawful, deceptive or abusive purposes.
Messages and Submitted Images
You may use the contact form to send messages and optional images to the newsroom. You must have the right to submit any material you send. Do not submit unlawful, malicious, private or infringing content. Sending a tip or image does not guarantee a response or publication. If we would like to publish a reader-submitted image or substantial original material, we may contact you for additional information or permission.
